IKEA Launches Inspelning Smart Plug: Your New Energy Management Tool

Introducing the Inspelning Smart Plug

IKEA has officially launched its Inspelning smart plug in the US and other markets at an affordable price of $11.99. This innovative smart plug enables users to monitor and manage their energy consumption, allowing for better control over energy-intensive appliances.

Convenience at Your Fingertips

The Inspelning smart plug can be conveniently controlled remotely via the IKEA Home smart app, a remote control, or even a motion sensor. This feature provides flexibility, as users can turn devices on or off while away from home or automate their operation based on movement. Essentially, it transforms your existing household electronics into smart devices.

Energy Insights Feature

One of the standout features of the Inspelning smart plug is its Energy Insights functionality available in the IKEA Home smart app. This feature allows users to monitor their electricity consumption in real-time, providing unique insights compared to other smart plugs. It displays data on electricity spot prices and compares your household’s energy usage with similar homes, making it easier to identify where your energy spending is highest.

Compact and Lightweight Design

The Inspelning smart plug is designed to be compact and lightweight, measuring just 2.5 inches wide, 1.75 inches high, and 3 inches long, with a weight of 3 oz. While it accommodates only one device per plug, multiple plugs can be attached to a single remote or motion sensor, with a maximum of 10 plugs helping to streamline control over your devices. This launch follows IKEA’s vision announced in May, aimed at assisting buyers in understanding their energy consumption.

Where to Buy

Originally slated for release in October, the Inspelning smart plug is now available for purchase on the official IKEA website.
